Opening on 13.04: Frieden at Museum Bruder Klaus in Sachseln, Switzerland

The theme of peace is, unfortunately, more relevant today than it has been in decades—primarily due to its opposite: war. The exhibition “Peace – Мир” focuses on what peace means to contemporary artists and presents current works on the subject. It primarily adopts the perspective of those for whom peace currently remains a utopia—a state far removed from their lived reality. To this end, Museum Bruder Klaus has invited artists from Ukraine to exhibit their works in Sachseln. These are complemented by works from Swiss artists.

The exhibition seeks to highlight the complexity of this highly topical subject. In this context, peace is something deeply personal, and its interpretation is highly individual. The approaches range from political works to pieces dealing with grief and mourning, to identity-forming works rooted in a culture of remembrance. Within the historical spaces of the Museum Bruder Klaus and its garden, a diverse panorama unfolds—featuring a variety of artistic approaches and forms, all of which invite reflection on peace and its meaning.

The critical overview to the topic of peace by Ukrainian and Swiss artists.
