Opening on 20.02: Interwoven at Vrij Paleis, Amsterdam
This February, Vrij Paleis Amsterdam will host “Interwoven”, a contemporary art exhibition that explores the connections between Dutch and Ukrainian cultures through art. The exhibition will run from February 20 to February 27, 2025, featuring 14 artists sharing their intertwining stories through paintings, sculptures, interactive installations, and audio-visual works.
“Interwoven” delves into the universal human experience of navigating hardship and seeking connection. It explores the pain of displacement, the challenges of rebuilding identity, and the hope for a safe and peaceful future. In a country that has welcomed over 100,000 Ukrainians, the exhibition celebrates the deep ties between Dutch and Ukrainian cultures.
“The exhibition is designed to create an immersive yet accessible atmosphere within three distinct areas of the space. Featuring wall displays, ceiling installations, free-standing pieces, and a dedicated audio-visual area with headsets, the exhibition offers a multi-sensory experience. Digital and physical maps, telling stories behind the art will be available for curious visitors on-site”, comments the curator of the exhibition, Ivanna-Nikol Posobchuk.
