Migrating Crown
2025, ongoing series of installations
engraved kitchen knives with quotes from politicians’ (man in power) conversations gathered on the metal ring in the shape of the crown
Migrating Crown. Peace negotiations edition.
2025
22 engraved knives
For the exhibition Frieden (Peace) at the Bruder Klaus Museum in Sachseln, Switzerland.
It is a continuation of a series of installations in which I work with speech patterns and recognisable phrases, depending on the context, which are wounding, sharp, or tactless, engraving them on knives. In this edition, I used quotes from a public conversation between Ukrainian President Zelenskyy and US President Trump about the rare earth minerals agreement and the Trump-mediated peace negotiations with russia (28 February 2025).
Used quotes translated to German:
We are looking forward to digging digging digging and getting some of the rare earth.
We had very good discussions with Russia.
If I would be a president this war would have never started.
I think once we make the agreement that’s going to be 95% they are not going to go back to fighting..
I don’t worry about security right now I need to make deal first.
The Europe gave much less.
Whether they in Russia or Ukraine think of the parents of all these people being killed needlessly.
You can’t do any deals without compromises.
I hope I will be remembered as a peacemaker..
To save lives first, second is to save a lot of money.
Why don’t you wear a suit? Do you own a suit»?
US is not treated fairly.
I think you not are going to need much security.
Russia is not going to go back.
I am up for both.
We have a beautiful ocean in between.
I stopped wars before they ever started.
You are not in the position to dictate.
You allowed yourself to be in a very bad position.
You don’t have cards right now.
You are gambling with World War 3.
Have you said thank you once.
